Job Summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated candidate to work as an NMR technician within the Imperial National Phenome Centre. The post-holder will work closely with the NMR Manager and other members of the NMR team in running and maintaining the laboratory instruments, including buffer preparation, sample handling, equipment calibration and maintenance). The post holder will also be responsible for sample logging and archiving, NMR data acquisition and spectrum quality control.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to contribute to the R&D program of the NPC which aims to implement and develop new analytical methods to help increase the NPC assay portfolio.
Imperial National Phenome Centre (NPC)
As part of the Imperial Biomedical Research Centre, the Imperial National Phenome Centre has been established to support initially the Stratified Medicine and now the Molecular Phenomics Theme. The NPC was established in 2013, and now has dedicated instrumentation in the Hammersmith Hospital Campus.
NPC undertakes large scale metabolic phenotyping of different types of human biofluids and tissues with the aim of identifying novel biomarkers of disease to improve their diagnosis and treatment, as well as to enhance our understanding of the interactions between individuals’ genetics, lifestyle and environment.
