We are seeking a highly-motivated and skilled administration Manager, to lead a busy operations Hub within the Cavendish Laboratory. We are currently at an exciting point in the Cavendish 150-year history as we prepare to relocate to a stunning, state of the art facility, the Ray Dolby Centre.
The Hub Manager and their team provides a vital, dedicated support service, that encompasses all standard areas of general administration, primarily finance and grants, but also HR, to academics, principal investigators and their groups, in the management of their research activities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is confident leading and developing a small, but dedicated team of people, or someone who is looking to experience a different operational environment and feels they are ready to demonstrate and develop skills in a post with more managerial responsibility.
You will have outstanding organisational and administrative skill, be able to manage confidently multiple, and sometimes conflicting deadlines, and on occasion, work effectively under pressure. As the main point of contact with hub members across different staff and categories, and the outward face of your administrative hub, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and nurture relationships with colleagues across all areas in the Department and beyond. The administration hub is part of a broader professional services team, and interactions and relationship development with those teams will be key to the success of this role.
The Essential requirements (E) outlined in the further particulars are those, without which, a candidate would not be able to do the job to the high standards required.
