The CPD Health Admissions & Short Course team forms part of the Student Administration Service and is responsible for processing applications from suitably qualified health care professionals onto a specialist range of programmes, modules and short courses offered by both the School of Health & Social Work and School of Life & Medical Sciences.
Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for a part-time motivated team member, able to bring a willingness to be flexible in time and in workload to support effective team working and to facilitate seamless customer service to our applicants, current students, and other stakeholders.
You will be acting as a frontline service and first point of contact for any CPD Admissions and Short Courses admissions enquiries. You will be responding to general and course specific queries and working with academic colleagues to ensure the timely screening and processing of applications through to registration.
Using a bespoke online CPD applications portal and website and a bespoke Short Courses Access Database, the role will include monitoring levels of applications to ensure viability and prevent over-and-under-recruitment, providing advice and support to colleagues across the Hubs, NHS Trusts, and other funding bodies.
The role may include significant finance-related administration, e.g. raising purchase orders, raising invoices and or credit notes for all sponsored and self- funded short course students, as well as chasing debt.
Skills and experience required
You will need to have proven administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation and experience of working with a wide range of people in a customer focussed environment.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to communicate with people at all levels, both written and oral, have a professional telephone manner, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
Attention to detail is crucial and you will need to be able to demonstrate a high level of IT skills, including proficiency in the use of databases and Microsoft Office packages. The ability to work accurately to deadlines is essential including the ability to deal with sensitive material with strict confidentiality and knowledge of data protection requirements.
Qualifications required
Educated to a minimum of A level or equivalent qualifications or proven professional work experience.
Please view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria. Please attach a personal statement showing clearly how your skills and experience match the Person Specification.
We regret that we are unable to offer UKVI sponsorship for this post; applicants will either hold UK Right to Work, or demonstrate access to UK Right to Work, before an offer is made.
