An appointment could be initially made at Research Assistant level

About the Role

You will be working closely with world leading researchers and industrial engineers on the aerodynamic design and analysis of aero-engine intake, nacelle and exhaust systems. The work will also encompass considerable research effort on computational modelling of propulsion system integration under cruise and high-lift conditions. One element of the collaborative part of the research will centre around the evaluation of the aerodynamic integration and the overall structural loads of the aero-engine. 

About You

You will hold a PhD (or close to completion) in Aerospace Propulsion, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Aerodynamics or related subjectwith a track record of publishing in high quality journals.

Good skills in engineering computing and programming are required and experience of optimisation methods would be beneficial. Ability to communicate clearly at a technical level and capability of clearly summarising objectives and achievements for briefing colleagues and project partners is also essential. Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to obtain UK Security Clearance (BPSS).
