Description of Post
It is expected that the lecturer will teach fundamental quantity surveying modules primarily on the 3 year Level 7 BSc in Quantity Surveying and the 4-year ab-initio BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
The lecturer may also be required to teach building measurement, construction contract law and procurement, construction technology and building services to students on the Level 7 and Level 8 full-time programmes in Construction Management, Fire Safety Engineering, Building Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architectural Technology, as well as on other part-time courses in the Department of Civil Engineering & Construction.
The delivery will include project-based and blended learning, with online learning by agreement.
The lecturer will join an enthusiastic team engaging in collaborative learning.
Pedagogic staff development is encouraged, and cognate qualification progression is also supported.
A significant part of the lectureship responsibility involves research, and it is expected that the successful candidate will bring a strong interest and capacity for research in their field.
Appointment(s) may be on a permanent/fixed term/pro-rata/full-time/part-time basis as required at Assistant Lecturer level. A panel will be created for any vacancies that may arise in the future.
