The School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP) at Keele University is seeking a creative, ambitous and experienced Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Lecturer with expertise in adult acquired disorders and/or eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties.  The first student cohort starts in September 2024 on a new innovative four-year MSci Speech and Language Therapy pre-registration programme.  The post-holder will join a dedicated group of @65 AHP academic staff; enthusiastic educators, researchers and scholars, in the growing School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP). The post-holder’s research/ scholarship portfolio will align with Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences research themes and complement existing AHP provision and expertise.

Internationally recognised for offering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate provision, SAHP offers a range of novel pre-registration AHP programmes including: sector-leading physiotherapy, radiography, prosthetic and orthotics and occupational therapy educational programmes.  Keele’s AHP research is 7th (out of 89 UK Universities); the majority deemed to be world-leading, or of international importance (REF 2021).  For clinical partners, we also offer post-graduate programmes for Advanced Practitioners, professional doctorates and PhD opportunities as well as a range of CPD module opportunities.

The successful candidate will play a key supporting role developing and delivering the Speech and Language Therapy programme, which will have synergies with the existing four-year MSci Physiotherapy pre-registration programme. You will be able to demonstrate a track record of consistent contribution to the development of the speech and language therapy professional /clinical services. You will have experience of teaching pre-registration AHP students in a clinical or higher education environment. .

Keele’s evolving AHP and Faculty resources include: a bespoke health simulation suite, digital imaging suite; state-of-the-art anatomy facilities; a bespoke gait/motion analysis laboratory; plaster workshop; prosthetics/orthotics machine room; patient assessment suite; in addition to two “health houses” on campus with live streaming facilities. SAHP students enjoy interprofessional educational learning opportunities with other health students including nurses, midwives, doctors, pharmacists, paramedics, social workers, counsellors, and biomedical scientists.
