The Department of Technology, Management and Economics at DTU is looking for an Associate or tenure track Assistant Professor in the area of Healthcare Operations & Analytics. Creating impactful (digital) healthcare services is a crucial objective for contemporary politics, society, and the economy, particularly during crises. A transition towards outpatient care through digital technologies is anticipated. Within this framework, artificial intelligence (AI) emerges as the pivotal technology for digital transformation. A vital determinant of success will be the understanding and implementation of AI and optimization in decision-making processes to enhance the provision and delivery of healthcare services. 

The position will be part of the Management Science division at the department. We are an internationally recognised research group within operations research and operations management applied across various areas such as maritime, supply chain, and healthcare management. With this position, we are strengthening our research within healthcare operations management and healthcare analytics. You will be part of a talented and ambitious team, which is situated at the very heart of DTU's mission to use science for the benefit of society.

Responsibilities and qualifications

As our new Associate or tenure track Assistant Professor, you will play a pivotal role in our ambition to further strengthen the department's research activities within healthcare operations & analytics as well as being central to our teaching. Furthermore, the position is vital to our efforts to transfer new knowledge and methodologies into the Danish healthcare sector to reap the benefits of digitalization. The department enjoys close collaboration with key players on the national and international scene. Thus, to continue growing your existing network, you will be expected to initiate new collaborations with relevant stakeholders. 

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. We expect you to bring the latest results from your research into our teaching, to educate the new generation of engineering graduates within (healthcare) operations management, and to inspire our students. You will work with your colleagues to deliver an exceptional learning environment for students at all levels. 

DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both. 

As formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the Associate Professor position you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an Assistant Professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.
