Computing, at UCLan, is changing. Now part of the newly formed School of Engineering and Computing, we are looking to expand on our established strengths in Software Engineering, Games/VR, HCI/UX and Cyber Security to increase our student/staff community and develop new opportunities in teaching and research. Our ambition is to become a leading player in computing in the North-West region, recognised nationally for our teaching, knowledge exchange, industry engagement and research. The University of Central Lancashire is a leading modern university located in the city of Preston, Lancashire.
We are seeking to appoint a Professor in Cyber Security who will lead in our evolution and growth through contribution to academic delivery, research and knowledge exchange, with a strong recognition of success metrics, high academic quality and reputational integrity.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and inclusive team player, with considerable experience of managing and delivering a balanced portfolio spanning teaching and research in higher education. They should have considerable experience of academic leadership, within the computing domain. They will be able to demonstrate ability to build and maintain co-creational relationships within their immediate computing team, across multi-disciplinary activity within the university and through national and international partnerships. They will have a breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain, with deeper understanding of, and a developing reputation in, their particular specialism. They will be experienced in delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing, applying suitable pedagogy to robustly develop and assess appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They should recognise the importance of professional standards, attitudes, and behaviours, relevant to the computing domain and be able to effectively model these, through their own practice, supporting an equitable, diverse and inclusive culture and environment.
A PhD in a relevant subject area is required for this role. Applicants should hold a professional teaching qualification, applicable to HE, and/or membership of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to obtain these shortly after appointment.
