LSE is a leading social science institution, producing research with some of the greatest global impact. Our researchers are world-leading thinkers on critical issues. LSE 2030 will deliver a new strategic direction that will preserve and build on LSE’s status as a world leading social science university that educates brilliant minds and creates knowledge that can transform global societies for a global impact. LSE Research and Innovation (R&I) supports the delivery of LSE 2030 through Priority 2: Research for the World. The strategy touches on every facet of research at LSE - from attracting the very best social scientists and enhancing the support for early career researchers, through to improving the full research, impact and innovation lifecycle to generate the highest quality research that can help shape a thriving, sustainable, inclusive, and happy future.
The Senior Research and Innovation Engagement Manager is a responsible post that offers the opportunity for involvement at the heart of the School’s research engagements and to develop and utilise specialist knowledge of research and innovation in a higher education leadership setting. They will support the Deputy Director of Research and Innovation to deliver evidence for transformational research and innovation engagements for the Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research) (PVCR) and the Director of Research and Innovation. The postholder will play a vital role in developing and delivering a stakeholder engagement strategy that takes a longer-term ‘strategic’ view of research and innovation. This may include leading consultations, conducting statistical analysis and producing expert briefings and presentations on content varying from external trends to internal research outputs, such as institutional impact, culture and environment, SHAPE funding policies, interdisciplinary research outputs and commercial engagements.
Acting as Executive Officer to the PVCR and Director of R&I, the postholder will prepare for and support their schedules through delivering presentations and briefings, projects, activities and engagements, enabling them to conduct their research leadership roles in an informed, and evidence-based manner. The postholder will deal with and progress a wide range of matters, often highly confidential and/or sensitive, exercising independent judgement about their urgency and importance, and demonstrating personal organisation, flexibility and an ability to work to demanding deadlines with autonomy.
LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. Most staff operate a blend of on-campus and remote working. Due to the nature of this role, on occasion you may need to work outside of normal working hours.
