Brunel University London is looking to recruit Lecturers in Global Public Health.
The post holder will join an expanding team of academics in the Division of Global Public Health. The department provides a collegiate and interprofessional environment for the conduct of nationally and internationally relevant education and research. With newly established Brunel Medical School and existing collaboration with other University departments, the post holders will have ample opportunities to engage with contemporary research areas that are also aligned with College Research Centres (thematically organised) and University Research Institutes (interdisciplinary).
The Division of Global Public Health has an international reputation in public health research including ageing studies, health economics, health policy, health promotion, population wellbeing and behavioural science. These areas are well supported by our current education portfolio involving five different on-campus and online postgraduate programmes. The education portfolio thus provides academics with opportunities to develop and deliver research-led teaching. Opportunities also exist across the College and University to develop collaborations with clinical, allied-health and non-clinical experts. The post holder will have an opportunity to advance existing collaboration through Brunel Partners Academic Centre for Health Sciences, working closely with local healthcare trusts, clinical commissioning groups, public health departments and other partners.
We are specifically looking to recruit individuals with a specialist subject area that is relevant to population health but at this time, we are specifically looking to recruit academics with expertise in any areas of epidemiology and global public health respectively. They will be expected to develop and deliver teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities as per the University’s strategic vision.
Applicants will ideally hold or be near completion of a PhD. Brunel University London is a research-intensive University; therefore, the successful applicant will be expected to produce high quality research and gain external research grants that contribute to the research profile of the Division.
Shortlisting of candidates for interviews will consider the extent to which the applicants have sufficiently demonstrated their suitability to the posts. Therefore, in order to have better understanding of the roles before application, interested candidates are encouraged to make informal enquiries with Professor Nana Anokye, Divisional Lead for Global Public Health nana.anokye@brunel.ac.uk
Interviews will take place on week commencing 6th May 2024
