Computing at The University of Central Lancashire is changing. Now part of the newly formed School of Engineering and Computing, we are looking to expand on our established strengths in Software Engineering, Games/VR, HCI/UX and Cyber Security to increase our student/staff community and develop new opportunities in teaching and research. Our ambition is to become a leading player in computing in the North-West region, recognised nationally for our teaching, knowledge exchange, industry engagement and research.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computing who will contribute to our evolution and growth through academic development and delivery, course management and research and knowledge exchange, with a strong recognition of success metrics, high academic quality and reputational integrity.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and inclusive team player, with experience of delivering a balanced portfolio spanning teaching and research in higher education. They will be able to demonstrate ability to build and maintain co-creational relationships within their immediate computing team, across multi-disciplinary activity within the university and engage with regional and national partnerships. They will have a breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain, with deeper understanding of, and a developing reputation in, their particular specialism. They will have experience in delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing, applying suitable pedagogy to robustly develop and assess appropriate knowledge, skills and understanding across undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They should recognise the importance of professional standards, attitudes, and behaviours, relevant to the computing domain and be able to effectively model these, through their own practice, supporting an equitable, diverse and inclusive culture and environment. 

A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a STEM computing related subject and PhD in a relevant subject area is required for this role. Ideally applicants should hold a professional teaching qualification, applicable to HE, and/or membership of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to obtain these shortly after appointment.
