About the role
As Timetabling & Attendance Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that teaching and assessment schedules work effectively for our students and contribute to an excellent staff and student experience. This role is responsible for the operational management of the University College’s timetabling function, including the management and utilisation of the timetable software to identify improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions that satisfy our learning and teaching requirements whilst making effective use of our estate.
The role is also responsible for ensuring that scheduling information is available for attendance monitoring, as well as playing a key part in ensuring that our overall responsibilities towards attendance are met. Reporting to the Deputy Academic Registrar, the successful candidate will manage the production of the University College timetable, working with colleagues, notably Heads of School, to proactively and accurately maintain and update the timetable system to reflect teaching activity and assessment schedules, ensuring that the approach to timetabling is within agreed policies and timeframes.
The job is varied and demanding and requires the ability to work independently with a high degree of professionalism. Commitment and organisational ability are essential, as is a flexible approach. The role makes an important contribution to the student and staff experience.
About the person
To be successful in this role, you need to be a highly self-motivated, analytically minded individual with a high level of data capability. Your experience and skillset in handling data and student systems will be important in helping to ensure that information flows linked to the student journey are optimal and provide a solid foundation for reporting and overall business intelligence. You will work closely with other like-minded colleagues to continually improve and adapt our systems and processes.
This role requires excellent organisational ability in all aspects of operational planning relating to the production and publication of a high-quality timetable, crucially in consultation and collaboration with key stakeholders. You will be able to organise and prioritise your workload to meet deadlines and possess a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills. You will be passionate about utilising your skillset for the positive influence this can have on the services we provide to our students.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum & Nationality Act 2006.
