Do you have previous experience of teaching in a health-related area? Would you like to teach, shape and develop the next generation of Paramedics?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly motivated team developing and leading the delivery of the open access BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science degree apprenticeship programme in partnership with the South Central NHS Trust. Over recent years, Allied Health curricula (inclusive of Paramedicine) has diversified to include a broader range of subject areas. This includes an increased emphasis on biology, sociology, public health and research informed practice. In support of this, we are seeking applications from those within and outside the paramedic profession who feel they can contribute towards providing a high quality, research informed education to our students.

Our Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice (CEPP) is the UK's largest provider of paramedic education. The CEPP portfolio also includes our CPD programmes which has over 1700 students currently active nationally and internationally. We deliver a Degree Apprenticeship programme working in partnership with 7 Ambulance Service Trusts, with over 1100 active learners, supporting the development of their workforce to become paramedic registrants. We also run a direct entry paramedic undergraduate programme from our Lancaster campus.

You will develop positive working relationships with NHS Trusts and other organisations. The University has previously been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Outstanding Employer Engagement Award and this is reflected through the collaborative working with several organisations. You will demonstrate enthusiasm for practice-based education and their specialty, and be willing to utilise a range of e-learning technologies and other strategies in order to deliver the provision of high-quality learning opportunities and the best possible student experience.

Informal Enquiries | Paula Gardner, Principal Lecturer in Paramedic Apprenticeships, email: paula.gardner@cumbria.ac.uk. tel:01228279314.

We are seeking innovative, creative, high quality researchers, and scholars to foster a culture of exploration, discovery and intellectual challenge that generates international recognition, respect and engagement.

In return, the University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days’ annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time staff), 25 research and scholarly activity days (pro-rata for part-time staff), support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy (HEA) accreditation, mentor provision in the first year of employment and potential opportunity for career development.
