Job summary

 This is a senior role within the newly established Strategic Programmes and Change Team at Imperial College, London. Imperial is a global top-ten university with a world-class reputation in science, engineering, business, and medicine.  

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Strategic Portfolio, and working to Great Service Programme Director you will support the full implementation lifecycle of Great Service our technology enabled digital transformation programme. This will include phased deployment of a new ERP solution across the College and significant business change to deliver the associated benefits.

You will have outstanding programme and project management skills and experience of not only working on large complex transformation programmes but also be skilled in managing a range of project managers (and PMO lead) and effective at delivering all activities across the programme’s workstreams within set parameters.

Duties and responsibilities

  • You will support senior colleagues to deliver the ERP programme forming the necessary links between all involved parties and delivering robust, auditable governance reporting to the project board.
  • You will ensure effective and efficient project management meeting or exceeding briefs, budget control and delivery of quality products.
  • You will be skilled in a range of project management approaches and comfortable operating in agile and waterfall environments.
  • Representing the Sponsor and/or Programme Director in the day-to-day duties required by the Project, recommending any changes required to programme and process when appropriate.
  • Liaising with College Departments, Faculties and other senior stakeholders,

Essential requirements

  • Degree qualified or equivalent professional qualifications 
  • Experience of delivering complex digital transformation projects, such as ERP, managing all activities across functional, technical and change for the full project lifecycle.
  • Recognised project management and/or programme management qualification (e.g.Agile, APM, MSP, PRINCE2).
  • Experience of negotiating and working with a broad range of stakeholders on large programmes
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Communication skills are paramount in this role as is the need to be able to communicate diplomatically with many different stakeholders.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role.  Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
