About us
The Neural Circuits for Movement (NCM) Laboratory, based in the Department of Neuromuscular Diseases, focuses in investigating the physiology and pathophysiology of neural circuits controlling movement using animal models. They have several laboratory areas, including a general and histology laboratory, a physiology laboratory, and a microscopy/image analysis laboratory, in addition to shared lab space. Members of the group publish regularly in scientific journals and present their work at national and international conferences.
About the role
You will provide Professor Robert Brownstone with a full personal assistant support, as well as providing a broader administrative support function for the NCM Laboratory.
The post is available immediately and is to undertake specific maternity cover, the duration of which is dependent upon completion of the cover, return of the post holder, or cessation of the funding, whichever is the soonest; this is expected to be until 16 February 2025 in the first instance.
The post is offered part-time at 18.25 hours per week (0.50 Full Time Equivalent). This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 60 percent of time on site.

About you
You will have completed your education up to A-level or equivalent vocational standard and have substantial administrative experience with proven senior PA experience, including managing large budgets.
Being a proficient IT user is essential, along with outstanding oral and written communication skills combined with strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility in your approach to work. Interest and knowledge of the clinical and research environment as well as experience in designing and managing websites are desirable.
This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.
