We have an exciting opportunity for a Fashion and Textiles Technical Demonstrator to join our Technical and Simulation Resources team on a short-term contract. The purpose of the role is to demonstrate a range of textiles and fashion techniques, including pattern cutting and garment making and to support students in their use. Knowledge of digital processes such as STOLL knitting machine and BrotherVR embroidery machine would be beneficial. This post would provide additional support to the wider technical team as required.
The role will be varied and will include having responsibility for Health and Safety and Maintenance and there will be some autonomy in making decisions which support the student experience as well as a variety of other tasks which are detailed in the job description.
You must have excellent practical knowledge in textiles, pattern cutting and garment making, be organised, have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable dealing with a variety of personality types in a changing environment with strict deadlines as well as managing and supporting team members. You will also be responsible for maintaining a stock of consumables and supplies, ensuring that the workshops are tidy and that equipment is maintained in good working order.
