The School wishes to appoint a highly motivated individual to join our enthusiastic and committed School of Medicine and Dentistry as a Principal Lecturer and Academic Lead for Medicine Apprenticeships.
The post holder will have specific responsibility for the successful development, delivery, quality assurance and accreditation of all medicine related Apprenticeships, including specifically interpreting the MBBS programme in the light of an apprenticeship model plus the identification, development and approval/validation of new programmes of study and further development of existing programmes, to support growth in the school’s portfolios.
The post holder will support the Associate Dean of the School and Deputy Associate Dean (Apprentices) by providing academic leadership, enhancing the achievement of excellent quality and performance standards, and contributing to the development and implementation of policies and practices to ensure effective deployment of resources. They will contribute as a member of the School Executive Team, to the vision and strategy for the University and School, enhancing its profile and reputation. The post holder will represent and promote areas of responsibility on University and School Committees, nationally and overseas.
The successful candidate will hold a doctorate/higher degree or equivalent professional qualifications/experience, a teaching qualification or equivalent and hold HEA fellow or senior fellowship.
Experience in the organisation, planning and delivery of apprenticeship education programmes in a clinical/educational environment is essential, including experience of teaching and assessing clinical skills. You must possess excellent communication and presentation skills; and have an ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships.
