Applications are open for two permanent positions as Building Service Technician in the Department of Medicine, based in the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre - a state-of-the-art research building located on the Biomedical Campus which opened in 2019 and houses up to 900 staff and three different Departments/Institutes.
An exciting opportunity to join the Building Service Team to help the functioning of the building and support the research groups within. As a Service Technician you will be a key part of the Building Services Team, working together to provide an outstanding service for the building. Within this role you will have a wide range of responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, distribution and collection of goods and parcels; minor maintenance such as replacing lamps; transport of hazardous waste from labs to collection points, glasswash and autoclaving where necessary; filling liquid nitrogen vessels and changing gas cylinders.
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate good organizational and prioritisation skills, good levels of communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of laboratory environments (including use of liquid nitrogen and hazards related to this and similar gases) and basic knowledge of IT Previous experience in a similar role, and with carrying minor maintenance tasks, are also required.
