The Medical Research Council Laboratory of Medical Sciences (LMS) is a world-class research institute with the mission to deliver transdisciplinary team science to advance the understanding of biology and its application to medicine. Funded by the MRC, as part of UK Research and Innovation, the LMS has a collaborative working culture. The LMS is based in a recently opened state-of-the-art building designed for team science located in West London on the Imperial College London Hammersmith Campus.

A strategic priority for the LMS Director, Professor Wiebke Arlt, is to support and develop outstanding clinician scientists in training, who form an integral part of advancing transdisciplinary team science. Since 2009, the LMS has been home to the Chain–Florey Clinician Scientist Training Programme, providing clinicians with the opportunity to undertake discovery research in the outstanding laboratories of the LMS. We are further developing the Chain–Florey Programme to provide a wider range of career funding to clinician scientists and  a training and mentoring programme that ensures they can flourish in their dual career as both a clinician and a scientist.

The ChainFlorey Clinician Scientist Training Programme Manager is a new and exciting role, responsible for the development and delivery of the programme, providing opportunities for clinical academic training from pre-doctoral training through to the transition to becoming a clinical group leader, and building the Scheme into a national training beacon for clinical researchers.

Working closely with the Institute Director, and the LMS Clinician Scientist Training Lead, you will develop successful recruitment campaigns, mentorship and bespoke training for clinical scientists, whilst overseeing the progression of Chain–Florey fellows and promoting the scheme through effective networking and national outreach.

You will have a strong interest and passion for supporting clinical research careers, with expertise in project management and administration, and experience of leading on marketing campaigns to attract talent and raise awareness.

We offer a wide range of employee benefits, including access to Edenred, 30 days annual leave , a defined benefit pension scheme, family friendly policies, and support with CPD. For more details, visit benefits of working for UKRI.
