Student Registration Manager

University Academy 92 (UA92)

We’re looking for a talented individual to be a key member of the Academic Registry team, managing a wide range of student and academic-related processes, supporting the student lifecycle end-to-end. Working closely with the Registrar, the Student Registration Manager will be responsible for leading registry systems and processes, including management of student records, registration, fees and funding, data returns and the provision of management information, data cleansing and timetabling, ensuring a professional and customer orientated frontline service is delivered to all applicants staff and students.

What you’ll be doing:

Registration

  • Manage and develop the delivery of student registry systems and processes relating to the student life cycle, including registration, fees, funding, scholarships, bursaries, assessment and student records management.
  • Advise staff and students on regulations, processes and procedures ensuring a culture of regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure student data is recorded and maintained accurately on the Student Record system and that information systems are developed to effectively support the needs of the business.
  • Manage the attendance monitoring system and provide regular attendance reports.
  • Liaise with Lancaster ISS and external IT partners to ensure suitable and innovative solutions for student, courses and academic administration.

Timetabling

  • Manage all for Timetabling and Room Booking functions for all academic classes, including the production of the UA92 Teaching Timetable.

Data Quality, Data Returns and Provision of Management Information 

  • Co-ordinate all aspects of registry data capture, collection/monitoring and recording, to ensure that required standards of data quality are achieved. Initiate requests for corrective action to data or processes where necessary.
  • Gather, analyse and interpret data and/or information, using predetermined procedures and processes, reporting and presenting findings, as appropriate, e.g.: run reports from databases and extract relevant data.
  • Working with the Registrar, support work related to statutory returns, for example HESA, OfS, ILRs.

Bursaries and Scholarships Administration

  • Setting up record per academic year of all eligible students
  • Checking students have met requirements for payments to be released on a Block-by-Block basis, checking full registration, payment of fees, monitoring attendance and engagement in assessments
  • Informing students where they have not met their requirements for payments and of their opportunities for improvement during their next Block of studies (followed by subsequent checks) and informing the Finance team of students who can receive payments or Student Experience team of those who can receive materials.

Updates to the Module Carousel

  • Ensuring capture of all programmes, module instances, intakes and reset points for students progressing

Fitness to Study Panel

  • Panel member meeting on an ad hoc basis to help Well-Being team make decisions on students’ fitness to study
  • Advise on return options (following the Module Carousel) and SLC implications to funding
  • Report any decisions to Lancaster University so student records can be updated and any reporting to the SLC take place  

What we’re looking for:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent professional qualification or relevant work experience.
  • Experience of Scheduling, timetabling and managing student record systems and databases.
  • Experience advising on complex rules, policies and procedures.
  • HESA Knowledge
  • Advanced IT skills including the use of a variety of Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
