Senior Research Support Officer

The Opportunity:

You will provide specialist advice and support for the creation of proposals for competitive research funding, as well as other contributions to the School’s research management, culture and environment, facilitating research excellence and funding success through proposal development and management. 

This post is open ended available from May 2024.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. 

Your skills and attributes for success:

• A degree plus some relevant work experience or broad experience typically a minimum of 5 years acquired through on job experience in increasingly demanding roles or HNC/HND plus a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience (Desirable).
• Experience of working in a bid environment and/or project delivery and/or data & planning.
• Demonstrable knowledge of bid development processes and/or external funding bodies or similar relevant knowledge from transferable environments. 
• Experience in engaging with internal and external stakeholders
• Competence with financial costing/budgeting, demonstrating a high standard of numeracy and attention to detail
