About the role
In an increasingly interconnected and complex world, any individual attempts to address risks are bound to have limited success. ODI’s Global Risks and Resilience (GRR) programme supports governments, the aid community, and businesses to make more effective decisions at the intersection of these risks.
GRR is looking for an experienced communications professional to lead on communications and outreach for its geopolitical work. The person will work closely with GRR’s Director of Programme, Communications Coordinator and researchers to raise the profile of GRR’s geopolitical expertise and attract new clients.
The role would suit an experienced communications professional who is looking to manage outreach for an exciting and fast-developing research portfolio.

About you
You will have proven demonstrable communications experience, with demonstrable expertise in planning and delivering strategic communications. As an adept communications professional you will be comfortable developing a range of innovative marketing materials, such as blogs, reports, videos, infographics, and social media posts, and experienced at delivering events to a high quality.
You will have excellent writing skills, and proven ability to summarise technical research in clear, compelling language. Your organisational, prioritisation and project management skills will be second to none, enabling you to juggle multiple tasks while delivering excellent results. You will have strong attention to detail and experience using website software and social media.
You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a fast-changing list of tasks.
Experience working on media outreach and publications production is preferred.
As part of the recruitment process, all interviewees will be asked to prepare a short presentation. ODI will also request each interviewee to complete a written test shortly after the interview.
