About the Role

Our preference is to make an appointment at Senior Lecturer level, but a candidate with sufficient potential could be appointed at Lecturer level to develop within the role. An alternative title to Senior Lecturer could potentially be Principal Research Fellow. The key responsibilities are:

  • To lead, manage and grow the icing team within the Centre;
  • To lead the development of a mixed portfolio of icing related research and to make intellectual contributions through journal publications;
  • To generate research and commercial consultancy income;
  • To lead the thought leadership within icing related research and education as well as to contribute across the Centre;
  • To develop collaborations both within the university (e.g. with aeronautics, materials, manufacturing) as well as nationally and internationally;
  • To supervise doctoral and MSc students.

Overall, the icing test facilities, and industrial relationships, are unique within the UK and offer a fantastic opportunity for research and development across a wide range of technology readiness levels.
