The Office of External Affairs and Communications is based in the Old Schools and manages the University's global reputation and its communications worldwide. We are a friendly and exciting place to work with approximately 60 members of staff.
The Office of External Affairs and Communications is seeking to appoint a part time (0.6FTE) Administrator to work as part of the office administration team.
The role will be varied with the postholder taking the lead on financial processes such as purchasing equipment and supplies for the office, raising invoices, tracking and renewing subscriptions and dealing with supplier queries. Prior knowledge of the University Finance System (UFS) is desirable, but not essential as training and support will be provided.
The postholder will be required to help maintain the smooth running of the office, assist with the organisation of events and be responsible for managing mailing lists. You will also support the team and the wider office with recruitment and the induction process.
Working within the administration team, and with other members of OEAC, you will be expected to participate in developing processes within the team, and initiating discussion for improvements in working practices.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience of working in office administration and have excellent administrative skills. Excellent attention to detail and very good written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as good organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
You should be educated to 'A' Level standard or higher with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
