The Opportunity:

This Research Associate position will contribute to the SUPERRES project within the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems at the University of Edinburgh, which is funded by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and in collaboration with Prof. Dirk Peter-Herten’s group in the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and School of Chemistry at the Medical School, University of Birmingham.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 2 years. (part time will be considered)

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Experience in FPGA programming in hardware description languages
  • Knowledge of microscopy image and data processing techniques
  • Hardware interfacing and PCB design for cameras
  • Software tools for data acquisition and image processing e.g. Labview and Matlab
  • Time resolved single photon sensor characterisation
