The University of Brighton's research pre-award team are looking for a Research Development Officer to join our dynamic and busy department - Research and Knowledge Exchange (RaKE). 

As the successful post-holder, you will work as part of a specialist team, supporting research bid development.  With responsibility for a portfolio of projects being developed for bids for external research funding, the Research Development Officer will horizon-scan for funding opportunities, matching them to academic expertise, assist with all aspects of bid development including budgeting and help in drafting sections of proposals. You will represent the department on School Research and Knowledge Exchange Committees and contribute to the Research Development training programme.

As the successful applicant, you will have excellent written and oral communication skills and a good understanding of the research environment.  Additionally, you will have:

  • Experience of academic writing
  • Experience of developing or working with budgets
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of designing and delivering training
