The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science, leading policy and advocacy campaigns, and building partnerships.
We plan to spend £16bn over the next ten years, funding new discoveries in life, health, and wellbeing, and taking on three global health challenges: mental health, infectious disease and climate and health.
These challenges need the bold science we support, but they won’t be solved by science alone.
We are looking for a Digital Content & Social Media Producer to join our team.
Where in Wellcome will I be working?
You will be working in the Digital Content & Social Media team within Wellcome’s Communications department, which is part of Corporate Affairs. You will be reporting to the Digital Content & Social Media Lead.
The Digital Content & Social Media team is responsible for producing findable, useful and shareable content across Wellcome’s owned digital channels, including our website (wellcome.org), social media and email communications.
This supports the Corporate Affairs mission of building trust, reputation and influence with key audiences to advance Wellcome’s vision and ambitions.
What will I be doing?
This role is responsible for planning, producing and editing digital content in a range of formats for Wellcome’s owned channels to reach audiences in research, policy and advocacy. The outputs span Wellcome’s research programmes (Discovery Research, Infectious Disease, Climate & Health and Mental Health) and our policy and advocacy work.
Alongside two equivalent positions in the team, this role provides essential community management on social media and support to maintain and optimise content on wellcome.org alongside teams across the organisation.
As a Digital Content & Social Media Producer, you will:
Plan, create and edit accessible digital content for a range of channels to promote our funding and engage and influence Wellcome’s core audiences
Work as part of a product team to continually improve wellcome.org, alongside in-house UX designers, user researchers and developers
Co-lead a system of community management and monitoring on social media
Analyse and report on content performance, using data, keyword research and insights to inform content strategy and production
Champion digital best practice, particularly around accessibility, to ensure the Digital Content & Social Media Team, as well as others across Wellcome, meet the needs of all our audiences
Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments

We are looking for someone who:
Has demonstrable experience of planning and producing accessible digital content for different audiences and channels
Can manage projects from concept to delivery
