About School

The School of Communication and Information Engineering at Shanghai University is an important base for education and scientific research in the fields of communication, electronics and information. The school involves the Department of Communication Engineering, the Department of Electronic Information Engineering, the Optical Fiber Research Institute of SHU, and the Shanghai Institute of Electronic Physics. At present, 11 national-level talent researchers and 41 provincial-level talent researchers are working here. The school owns Shanghai Key Laboratory of Specialty Fiber Optics and Optical Access Networks, Shanghai Advanced Optical Waveguide Intelligent Manufacturing and Testing Professional Technical Service Platform, provincial and ministry co-construction of key laboratory of the Ministry of Education, province of state key laboratory cultivation base construction, the base under the “Overseas Expertise Introduction Project for Discipline Innovation” (111Project), etc. More details can be found on the  college’s official website: https://scie.shu.edu.cn/ 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct full-time/part-time lecturing and research job.
  • Guide and cultivate graduate students.
  • Carry out international cooperation.
  • Master the cutting-edge dynamics of the discipline. 

Requirement:

  • Abide by laws and regulations, adhere to professional ethics, possess a rigorous academic style, and have a strong team spirit.
  • Hold a full-time doctoral degree, be in good physical and mental health, and be able to perform duties normally.
  • Meet the needs of the university and discipline development, possess the ability to teach core courses in the discipline, and demonstrate outstanding scientific research capabilities.
  • Research project experience with renowned academic achievement will be a huge bonus. 

Required Research Areas:

  • Specialty Optical Fiber and Advanced Photonic Technology: including new optical fiber and fiber photonics technology, optical fiber communication and optical amplification, optical fiber sensing technology, laser technology and application, micro/nano optics and integrated photonic devices, quantum and energy photonics, biophotonics, etc.
  • Advanced Broadband Communication Technology: including advanced optical communication technology, optical network system, broadband wireless communication, 6G, antenna and radio frequency technology, terahertz, signal and information processing, air-space-earth-sea communication, etc.
  • Visual Intelligent Computing and Security: including immersive visual intelligent processing, visual media intelligent analysis, machine vision and artificial intelligence, intelligent model protection and management, multimedia content security, etc.
