The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are recruiting a Research Fellow/Assistant Professor to an exciting new role to work on the MENJAGA/DUALIS studies. These projects are aimed at improving antenatal testing and management of Syphilis and HIV in Indonesia through a Quality Improvement approach. The individual will be part of a strong multidisciplinary team based across three collaborating institutions: LSHTM, UGM Indonesia and The Kirby Institute, Australia. They will be responsible for assisting in the design of the intervention and evaluation, drafting study documents, applying for ethical approval, data analysis and writing up. 

For the Research Fellow post, the successful candidate will hold a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree in Epidemiology or Public Health or related discipline. For the Assistant Professor post, the successful candidate will hold a doctoral degree in Epidemiology or Public Health or related discipline. 

The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 30th November 2027. The post is funded by UKRI and is available immediately. 

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale, for Research Fellow at Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £49,908 or Assistant Professor at Grade 7 in the range £51,299 - £58,723 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM with travel to Indonesia (about 3 x 2-week trips per year) in order to participate in meetings, workshops, data collection etc.
