The School of Computer Science and Mathematics (CSM) within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks to appoint three Degree Apprenticeship Facilitators to work alongside the programme teams and academic staff with the School of CSM, the University Professional Services Teams, apprentices and their employers.

This post is full-time but fractional may be considered.

The successful candidates will have experience in the majority of the following:

  • careers guidance
  • facilitation
  • coaching and mentoring
  • vocational training and assessment
  • contribution to teaching within the field of Digital Technologies and Computing, specifically in the Business Analyst, Software Engineer and Data Analyst subject areas/programmes within FE/HE

We are looking for the role holder to support apprentices and their employers to achieve success in their apprenticeship. The role holder will need to meet with apprentices and their appointed work-based mentor (employer) to review their training needs against the apprenticeship standard (skills scan at the admissions point and then throughout the apprentice through to the End Point Assessment). The role holder will also record and report progress at Progress Review meetings at least every 12 weeks to meet the degree apprenticeship standards as required by Ofsted the appointed inspector of higher-level apprenticeships and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA) rules. To contribute to quality improvement of the process and support the academic staff in terms of reporting and employer relations within the school.

Applicants should be advised that due to the key timings of certain aspects of this role, annual leave is restricted within July and August.
