Do you have experience working in a busy office environment, with the confidence to work with people at all levels? Are you interested in an administrative role supporting funded projects, working at pre and post-award stage? 

If so, this role as Knowledge Transfer Partnership Administrator may be ideal. 

The role is part of the Research and Innovation Support (RIS) central delivery team and provides the full range of pre- and post-award administration for KTP projects. The role holder is expected to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in their working day-to-day.

They will also provide professional support for the RIS directorate, typically supporting the Finance Officer with all procurement-related activity (including new IT equipment for new staff), acting as the first point of call for RIS staff experiencing technical issues.

 As a KTP Administrator your duties will include:

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Knowledge Transfer Partnership Officer for pre-award activity and post-award support for KTP projects
  • Organise and attend Local Management Committee (LMC) meetings for each KTP project, prepare meeting papers, minute meetings and organise travel for RIS colleagues
  • Supporting in a range of transactional financial processes to ensure that RIS’ financial administration meets University regulations
  • Ensure that all RIS staff have appropriate IT equipment, assist new staff members with the set-up of their workstations and trouble-shooting IT issues, escalating issues as required

The successful candidate will have/be:

  • Educated to A-level or equivalent with GCSE English and Maths
  • Experience of supporting multiple teams in a busy office environment
  • Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent numeracy skills, working with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Confident and polite, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with colleagues at all levels
