We have an exciting opportunity to join the University of Sheffield as an Assistant Admissions Officer. You will be required to take responsibility for a range of activities to support the delivery of a high quality admissions service that will enable recruitment of suitably qualified applicants to the University. You will work flexibly, under the supervision of the Admissions Manager, to support the priorities for the Admissions Service at any given time ensuring a joined-up approach to the work that we do. You will be required to work accurately, efficiently and with attention to detail, holding high regard for the use of personal and sensitive data in order to support Admissions Service compliance with external legal requirements and to provide a consistent, excellent level of customer service. As well as dealing directly with applicants, the role is suitable for someone committed to high levels of customer service and capable of flexible delivery across a range of diverse projects and teams.
You will work closely alongside other members of your Admissions Team to help to ensure that admissions procedures are successfully completed and that policies are effectively adhered to.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar role or busy office environment with good attention to detail coupled with the ability to work across a variety of IT platforms and information resources. You will also need to have good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent customer service skills, with experience of responding efficiently and effectively to phone and email enquiries. You will possess the ability to work effectively as part of a team, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively and be willing to work flexibly when necessary in order to meet deadlines.
