Lecturer in Digital and Interactive Design

Are you an academic with proven abilities to deliver teaching and research in Digital and Interactive Design? Are you passionate about providing an exceptional student experience in a research-intensive Russell Group University? Can you apply your expertise to support and complement the School’s existing strengths? 

You will deliver world class teaching and research in the area of Digital and Interactive Design, supporting the continuing development of the School of Design as a sector leading centre with innovation at its core. This is a design/creative driven role, and you will have experience as a designer and research expertise in digital and interactive design applied across a range of sectors. You will have knowledge of how to develop innovative practice and research utilising a range of digital media, software and techniques, and experience of how digital and interactive design solutions can be applied to both commercial and non-commercial settings. In addition, you will have links with industry and be able to develop a strong network of engagement with the regional digital and interactive design sector.

You will have a PhD in Digital and Interactive Design (or related areas) and have a developing record of research in this area, commensurate with the level of the post and a clear indication of the ability to achieve internationally recognised standards of excellence. You will be a committed teacher and an outstanding communicator able to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate taught study in the area of Digital and Interactive Design, including User Interface Design, User Experience Design, Game Design, Immersive Technologies, and creative design and digital innovation in general. You will also contribute to teaching and administrative activities in general, providing excellent research-led teaching across various of our creative programmes, but specifically delivering specialist content within our programmes MA Design, MA Digital Design Futures and BA Graphic and Communication Design. You will also contribute to our Studio XLAB for digital innovation and immersive technologies.
