Research Fellow

The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow with experience in food system analysis, in particular around sustainable diets. This is an exciting opportunity to become a core member of the Accelerating Dietary Behaviour Change (ABC-SHEADE) Project at LSHTM. In the project we aim to better understand how “early adopters” changed from conventional diets to sustainable diets and how we can use that information to accelerate dietary change among the critical mass. 

In the post, you will play a leading role in development of the ABC-SHEADE project, including development of novel analysis methods. You will also play an active role in externally representing the ABC-SHEADE project including at both academic and non-academic meetings.

The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant field, and experience with food systems analysis, (dietary) behaviour change, health modelling, and/or mixed methods analysis (preferably also in a field related to diets/nutritional health). The post can be taken part-time or full-time 0.4 FTE to 1.0 FTE and is fixed-term until 31 January 2025 in the first instance. The post is funded by the Jochnick Foundation and is available from 01 May 2024.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 - £46,054 per annum pro rata for part-time (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
