The University of Galway is a pillar of the creative ecosystem in the city and the country. The University of Galway seeks a visionary leader to act as Director of a newly established research Institute for Creativity. The Creativity Institute draws on the University of Galway’s tradition of excellence in the broad area of creativity, while aiming to inspire and lead the development of exciting new multidisciplinary projects that will have an international reach and impact. The position of Research Institute Director runs for four years, starting no later than 1 September 2024, and is renewable for a second four-year term.

The appointment will be made at Established Professor level as a permanent appointment, and the successful applicant will also be affiliated with one of the seven Schools in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies at the University. The successful applicant will have a sustained track record of inspirational leadership, especially in the development and management of multidisciplinary funded research projects.

Salary: €134,287 to €169,770 p.a (applicable to new entrants effective from January 2011).

 This appointment will be made on the Established Professor scale in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy. (For pre 1995 public sector entrants in Ireland, the D class Salary rates will apply).
