We are seeking a research assistant, with qualitative skills and experience to join a research team involved in exploring and ultimately improve healthcare pathways for people with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) (brittle bone disease). The project will have a focus on oral health. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher to build on existing work and conduct important and interesting research. It will also allow you to develop skills in literature reviewing, conducting qualitative research, intervention development, priority setting statistical and paper writing.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the setting-up, as well as the day-to-day running of the project, with overall supervision from the project principal investigators (PIs). This will include conducting an initial literature review, setting up focus groups and interviews, collecting and analysing qualitative data and undertaking intervention mapping using established behaviour change techniques. The study will provide several opportunities to write up the findings for presentation at conferences and publications

Your priorities will include:

  • Conducting a literature review
  • Participant recruitment
  • Conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups
  • Qualitative data analysis
  • Report and publication writing

Who we’re looking for a candidate with:

  • A good undergraduate degree and either postgraduate qualification or equivalent research experience
  • Experience of qualitative data collection and analysis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Who is enthusiastic about the research topic, professional in their approach to work and a good team player.
