We seek a Postdoctoral Research Assistant for a new project focused on building novel LLM-based agent systems.

The position principally requires expertise in Python programming and strong experience in software development and deployment. Prior experience developing AI applications using large language models would be beneficial. A strong quantitative background (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering) is a requirement.

The PDRA will also be expected to assist in the production of published material, and to make occasional contributions to grant-writing to support ongoing developments of the project. They will have excellent Python development skills, including code optimization and deployment, and experience with version-control systems (ideally git),software testing, and a keen demonstrable interest in AI and Large Language Models.   Benchmarking the accuracy of model/software outputs and working both independently and as a member of a team to address shortfalls is an important part of this role. An interest in the application of research to current environment problems would be welcomed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Applications are particularly welcome and encouraged from women candidates and black and minority ethnic candidates who are under-represented in academic posts in Oxford. SoGE is committed to equality and values diversity.
