We are looking for a proactive and experienced ITAM Inventory Specialist – Software Asset Management (SAM) to join our Information Technology Department, contributing to our mission of enhancing cybersecurity throughout the University.
As the frequency and sophistication of cyber-attacks targeting higher education institutions continue to increase, Canterbury Christ Church University remains committed to delivering a transformative educational experience for students, while prioritising cybersecurity and compliance. Through our strategic Cyber Essentials Plus (CE+) Project, we are reaffirming our commitment to enhancing cyber resilience and upholding industry standards by expanding the teams responsible for driving improvements.
The ITAM Inventory Specialist (SAM) will support the CE+ project as part of the University’s drive towards achieving and maintaining accreditation by effectively managing the organisations software assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, optimising software usage and minimising costs.
The new role is being recruited within the IT Asset Management team on a two-year fixed term contract which may, depending on the outcome of teaching bids, become permanent.

About You
We are seeking a proactive, approachable, and customer-focused individual with prior experience in Software Asset Management. Candidates should possess a firm understanding of licensing models and proficiency in using software asset management tools. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability and willingness to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally. They should be comfortable working collaboratively within a team as well as independently.
