We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, to join the Translational Ubiquitomics research team at the CAMS Oxford Institute (COI), Nuffield Department of Medicine.

You will use established assays (including multi-omics approaches such as proteomics, ubiquitomics, interactomics and ABPP and to implement assays to examine the role of DUBs in CNS cell biology. You will be responsible for performing experiments examining deubiquitylase activity (DUB activity profiles using activity-based probes) for characterising specific DUB inhibitors provided by an industrial partner, and performing research work using cell culture, animal tissue, and human patient derived specimens. You will prepare mass spectrometry (MS) samples from a variety of biological sources (i.e. cell cultures, including iPSCs and other relevant tissues and specimens).

It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in biology, chemical biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or similar. You will be familiar with biochemistry techniques (e.g. Immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, pull-down, in vitro enzymatic activity assays) and have experience in handling cells (ideally iPSCs, tissue culture and transfection experiments). You will have a responsible nature with a methodical and careful approach to working in the laboratory independently. Experience in MS data analysis and statistics (i.e. MaxQuant, Perseus, and Prism) is desirable.
