Lecturer: Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £48,039 to £57,797 per annum, with potential progression up to £70,000 per annum.

Senior Lecturer: Full time starting salary in normally in the range of £60,099 to £69,505 per annum with potential progression to £85,000 per annum.

About the Role
You will be responsible for undertaking independent research in the propellant chemistry, ageing and characterisation area and the development and teaching of high-quality courses at postgraduate level. You will principally lecture on the Explosives Ordnance and Engineering MSc and Apprenticeship programme, as well as being actively involved in the promotion, development, and management of the programme. As a Senior Lecturer, you will also assume Module Leader responsibility and you may be required to take on Course Director responsibilities.

About You
You will have a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a teaching qualification (PGCert in Academic Practice or equivalent) and/or Membership of Higher Education Academy or willingness to undertake FHEA.

Experience of strategic planning, financial management, and setting the strategic direction of a technical area is essential. Additionally, for Senior Lecturer, you will have experience as Course Director. Extensive professional experience with a substantial reputation in your research field and contributions in research and teaching.

Knowledge of Defence and Security sectors, their priorities, and practices is essential along with awareness of academic standards in UK higher education sector.
