This fixed-term post is available immediately (subject to funding) in Exeter Innovation until 31 March 2025. The post is 1.0 FTE and the appointee will be hybrid, based at the Penryn Campus, Cornwall.

Main purpose of the job:

The Evolve Futures project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The project brings together an interdisciplinary team from multiple research faculties and organisations in the Southwest. It will support innovation and inclusive expansion while building resilience in SMEs and is aimed at supporting Cornwall’s entrepreneurs and business community.  The programme will involve a series of events and activities as part of this support to businesses.

The Project Coordinator (Events & Logistics) will play a key role in the success of this recently awarded SPF project. They will assist the various UoE academics and professional services colleagues to co-ordinate, plan and run events, while managing the evidence requirements for this government funded project.  The purpose of the research project is to provide much needed support for the business community through harnessing the UK's leading research capabilities; creating new knowledge, tools, behaviours and relationships to capture economic, social and environmental value. The project is varied and covers research in many sectors such as supporting start-ups providing skills development, offering 1:1 business consultancy and research project support, and access to a state-of-the-art visualisation suite.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the project team, involved in the planning and managing of project events, updating social media, creating case studies and interacting with businesses to complete required paperwork and providing updates on events. They will liaise with project members and university colleagues and the business community and will contribute to the delivery of event activities and assist with procurements for required events. The project coordinator will work with relevant faculties and act as a central resource for those teams to put on events in the Evolve Futures space.
