We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Admissions and Student Funding team as an Admissions and Student Funding Officer, on a fixed term, 16-month contract.

Job Purpose:

To work within the Admission and Student Funding team to ensure an efficient and effective admissions and funding awards service is provided to college staff, students and applicants.  Ensuring accurate recording of data on college management information systems.

You will be based primarily at the UHI Inverness main campus, working within our opening hours. A hybrid working arrangement to include some time working from home is also possible, pending a review of arrangements for confidentiality considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

Admissions/Progression:

  • Applications, interviewing, offers, tracking progress of applications.
  • Progression tracking.
  • Liaison with Guidance and Front of House and Administration Services Teams to ensure continuity from enquiry.
  • Ensure that UCAS application deadlines are met.
  • Liaise with UHI EO registry staff on HE admissions.

Awards

  • To provide a student awards service, including bursary awards, to College students, in line with College and National policies.
  • To provide the Accountant with regular monitoring information for both Bursaries and all Hardship Funds, to ensure that funds are awarded in line with current guidance and equitably disbursed.
  • To provide advice and guidance to College staff, students and applicants on the range of student support available with particular reference to bursaries, EMA, discretionary funds, housing and council tax benefits and the implications of study on existing benefit entitlement.

Please note: the successful post holder will need to pass a satisfactory PVG scheme membership prior to commencing employment.
