About the role

This post supports delivery of UCL Global Business School for Health’s MSc Global Healthcare Analytics route at UCL East.

The post holder will work in a team to deliver postgraduate modules on our Global Healthcare Management MSc within the analytics route programme specifically supporting analytic-related modules. These are well established modules at the UCL and the incumbent will be responsible for delivery of the modules to a subset of the students and working as part of the convening team.

This post would suit someone who is passionate about sharing their knowledge of Python and machine learning to students interested in working in the healthcare sector who have not met these concepts before and is keen to enhance their teaching experience. The post holder will need to have excellent communication skills and preferably experience of using Python and machine learning in an applied context, preferably in a healthcare environment.

This role is a part time (7.3 hours per week) fixed term appointment for 1 year to start from August 2024.

About you

You will be required to have higher education teaching experience and have a PhD (or near completion) in relevant quantitative discipline (including, but not limited to, health informatics, digital health, bioinformatics, statistics, genetics, epidemiology, computer science, information systems engineering). Experience or knowledge of the role of health informatics/data science to deliver benefits for healthcare or research is also essential.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to enthuse listeners, be able to deliver research-led effective, engaging and inclusive undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching and be able to supervise postgraduate research. You will also have strong programming skills including Python and experience of machine learning.

Experience of and enthusiasm for collaborative and team-based working with the ability and willingness to contribute to the education, administration and general life of the School and be committed to the UCL policy for equal opportunity with the ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and students of all cultures and backgrounds is also essential personal attributes.
