We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Research Services Office, in our Post Award Team.

The Research Services Office is part of the University’s Research and Enterprise Services Division. It provides expert advice, guidance and administrative support to Lancaster’s research community in the development of bids for externally funded research and the administration of successfully awarded grants and contracts. The team provides a range of research support activities at both pre- and post-award including advice on funders’ terms and conditions, proposal preparation, costing and pricing, post-award grant administration for research grants and contracts from a diverse range of researcher funders.

You should have experience of providing excellent administrative support; some financial administration experience and have the confidence to use software packages to complete tasks quickly and accurately within strict deadlines.

You should also have excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing high standards of customer service. You should be self-motivated and keen to develop new skills which will be supported by peers and managers.

The team works flexibly and is using a hybrid approach to working on campus and at home, although we would expect the successful candidate to be on campus more during the initial training period.

As a truly global and inclusive university, it is no surprise that Lancaster University is committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive and fulfill their potential. Students from over one hundred countries make up our diverse campus and over half of our students come from outside the UK. Lancaster is an open and welcoming community that values equality and diversity. Our promotion of global values ensures Lancaster is a welcoming environment for all students and staff.

We are proactive in engagement with our staff to help us understand the lived experiences of our university community and to understand how we are doing in creating a fairer and more inclusive University. Our multi-faith Chaplaincy Centre is a welcoming place for people of all faiths and none. It includes facilities for the Baha’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Islam and Jewish faiths and also a Muslim Prayer Room.

You will benefit from a range of staff benefits including generous holiday entitlement, pension scheme and our flexible benefit scheme.
