The Role
The University wishes to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (dependant on experience/qualifications) who is a Pharmacist by background to have an active involvement in the organisation and delivery in the first instance of our non-medical prescribing course currently run at level 6 and level 7 and the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice. Reports formally to Associate Head of School- Post Graduate Studies School of Nursing but works within the NMP teaching team and will be operationally supported by the NMP and ACP course directors.
Your role responsibilities would include you being able to deliver the fundamental principles of pharmacology and prescribing in practice. We are particularly interested to hear from applicants who currently prescribe in practice and work as Advanced Clinical Practitioners within clinical practice.
You would be working alongside the course director and be a member of the non-medical prescribing academic team, working closely with the other members of the team in the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of the programme. Teaching will take place across Medway and Canterbury campuses and will be based depending on location.
The Person
The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician and an excellent teacher and will either have FHEA status or be able gain this within 24 months of appointment. Experience of working as a prescribing practitioner is essential. A strong understanding of the current standards for non-medical prescribing for nurses and allied health professionals would be advantageous, whilst ability to teach pharmacology is essential.
