Are you passionate about teaching and engaging students? Do you enjoy equipping students with the essential skills to succeed? Do you love to learn? If so, we are eager to hear from you!
We are seeking two enthusiastic and creative part-time Assistant Teaching Librarians to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will have opportunity to blend your love for teaching with your creativity to deliver skills workshops to staff and students. Whether you seek to advance into a librarian role, pursue a postgraduate qualification in Library and Information management, or desire to explore a different/related career path, this role offers you an opportunity to work with forward-thinking professionals, grow your skills, and enable you to gain valuable experience and develop professionally within the library and information sector.
You will work alongside our Assistant Academic Support Librarians to design and deliver innovative workshops (in person and online) aimed at enhancing a range of skills, both for the immediate academic success but also lifelong learning. You will collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies to promote effective learning, and be enthusiastic about the potential of emerging technologies in teaching and learning.
Through joining our team, you will be part of a supportive and collaborative small team. Your ability to communicate and work effectively as part of the team will be essential.
Postholders will work 20 hours per week and, importantly, will be expected (and therefore need to be flexible) to work outside core business hours during peak times of the year. Work patterns will be adjusted, or TOIL will be arranged with the postholder during such periods.
The provisional work patterns for the two posts are:
Postholder one (Monday to Thursday): Mondays and Tuesdays, 09:00-14:00; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12:00-17:00.
Postholder two (Tuesday to Friday): Tuesdays and Fridays, 12:00-17:00; Wednesdays and Thursdays, 09:00-14:00.
