The role
You will be involved in supporting the delivery of our occupational therapy courses and inter-professional portfolio. In this role, you will inspire our students and make a valuable contribution to their learning experience, whilst preparing them for contemporary occupational therapy practice.
Alongside this, is the opportunity to develop your career, further your own academic profile and enhance your teaching through studying for the Postgraduate Certificate - Teaching in Higher Education.
You must be an HCPC-registered occupational therapist and have well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical, and theoretical issues relevant to contemporary practice.
You will ideally be at the forefront of new ways of working in the NHS, in either primary or secondary settings, demonstrating care innovation and emergent management pathways.
We are currently developing a team of lecturers to support placement learning activities across our 3 degree apprenticeship courses. It is envisaged that these posts will lead the placement team, and co-ordinate placement learning, supporting innovation and quality of occupational therapy practice education in higher education, whilst retaining strong links with employers, work-based mentors, practice educators and apprentices.
The role also requires you to contribute to our pre-registration apprenticeship courses through teaching, assessing and academic citizenship/research activity.
