About the Role
The Faculty is seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the position of Associate Dean, Student Experience. The Associate Dean is central to the effective leadership and management of the Faculty. As a member of the Faculty Executive the post-holder will have shared responsibility for developing and leading the Faculty to ensure its long-term development, growth and sustainability. Providing visionary leadership, the post-holder will assist in the further development of a culture of high performance and will provide leadership, vision and direction to staff within the Faculty.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for the advancement of innovative, high-quality and effective teaching and learning across the Faculty, ensuring positive student outcomes and the delivery of an excellent student experience. The post holder will lead the development of the Faculty’s education portfolio ensuring it is current, fit for purpose and is responsive to external drivers.
The post holder will be responsible for the continuous development and promotion of a culture of academic excellence within the Faculty. He/she will work with colleagues to ensure that strategies, quality processes and policies are developed, supported, and implemented to meet the requirements of the University and external regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will be expected to develop mutually beneficial and effective partnerships, productive collaborations and influential relationships with students, alumni, and with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies to inform academic planning.
About You
As Associate Dean, Student Experience, you will be an experienced and successful academic with significant experience in the development, delivery and quality assurance of innovative academic programmes which respond to workforce needs and the external health and social care landscape, support excellent student outcomes and deliver and excellent student experience.
You will be an experienced and compassionate leader with experience of external engagement. Your clear demonstrable understanding of current strategic issues in higher education as they impact on teaching and learning, the student experience, quality, and standards, brings a thorough understanding of Quality assurance and enhancement processes at all levels.
You will have experience of support for the enhancement of learning and teaching and the ability to lead by example and have a strong academic profile of scholarship and relevant experience. The title of Professor may be offered to an appropriately qualified candidate who meets the requirements of the role at Edge Hill University.
