About the Role

An excellent opportunity to work at the forefront of industrial sustainability and circular economy, working in one of the UK's premier research and technology organisations, Warwick Manufacturing Group (part of the University of Warwick).

In this role you will work with businesses of all sizes, trade bodies, government departments and academics to ensure a sustainable future for UK manufacturing. You will help to develop strategies, processes and technologies that help UK manufacturing transition to a future of lower emission processes and supply chains, connecting industry actions to the prevention of climate change. In this role you will consider products and processes together to help businesses to understand how to reduce their emissions, reduce their waste and decrease pollution – while maintaining productivity and continuing to perform economically.

Manufacturing in the UK is responsible for 12% of the UK’s territorial emissions, and around 43% of the UK’s consumption emissions. Reducing these emissions is critical if the UK is going to meet the target of net-zero by 2050. In this role you will be able to make a real impact in helping UK manufacturing businesses understand how they can reduce their emissions and how they can grow their business to support societies need for a cleaner world.

In the role you will support Warwick Manufacturing Group’s lead for sustainable manufacturing and circular economy, you will have freedom to pursue sustainability projects in line with WMG’s industrial sustainability and circular economy strategy. You will be able to generate your own research income and projects to help a vital sector in the UK’s economy to have a sustainable, viable future.

For informal enquiries, please contact Russell Hall at r.hall.5@warwick.ac.uk.
