Background
To assist in research (by carrying out data collection or analyses) to create knowledge through providing research support for projects and research groups.
We are recruiting a Grade 6 Research Associate to provide technical support for research in Prof Yin Chen’s lab at the School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team composed of 4 postdoctoral researchers and 2 PhD students, taking a multidimensional approach to study the ecophysiology and adaptation of several intracellular bacterial pathogens and key environmental microbes involved in global biogeochemical cycles. This post is based at University of Birmingham under the supervision of Professor Yin Chen, but will work closely with collaborators both internally and externally (e.g. Queen’s University Belfast, University of Warwick).
The research will be based in the microbiology theme within the School of Biosciences at the University of Birmingham. The School of Biosciences has > 45 research groups working on various aspects of microbial sciences and human diseases. The candidate will have the opportunity to assist with supervision of postgraduate students and undergraduate students.
